Evaporative Coolers Effective Cooling For Pennies A Day

Evaporative Coolers

How do evaporative coolers work?
The heart of an evaporative cooling system is the pad where the water evaporates and the air passing through the pads is cooled.
Evaporative cooling pads, are manufactured of fluted cellulose sheets that are glued together. This material is chemically impregnated with special compounds to prevent rot and ensure a long service life.
A special water distribution system spreads water over the surface of the pad, ensuring a uniform supply of water to keep the entire air contact surface thoroughly wetted.
Fans create a negative pressure, causing air to be drawn through the pads. Evaporation results from contact between air and water. A control system operates the water pump and the fan distributes the cool air.
The relative humidity is lowest in the afternoon when the temperature is at its highest. And the lower the humidity, the better the evaporative cooling effect.

Common Evaporative Cooler Applications:
portacool coolers
Agriculture:
Cool animals and stables for pennies a day.
Cool feeding areas, barns, stables, production areas and more for a fraction of traditional cooling costs.
Create tunnel ventilation to cool barns and enclosed areas.

Aviation:
Spot cool tight repair spaces or cool an entire hanger.
• Mechanics areas
• Aircraft Repair
• Commercial & Private Hangers
• Baggage Handling
• Recreational areas
Keep hangars cool all summer
Reduce temperature up to 30 degrees F.

Automotive Industry:
Keep employees and equipment cool:
• Mechanics Bays
• Repair Centers
• Oil Change Centers
• Garages
• Workshops
Keep work areas an average of 15 to 25 degrees cooler, making work or waiting areas more comfortable for workers and customers.

Patio Dining and Restaurants:
Effectively Cool Prep areas to Patios: The stifling heat of summer can make outdoor patio areas off limits, but evaporative coolers can reduce temperature by an average of 15 to 25 degrees F.

Military:
Where and when it’s needed:
• Hangers
• Flight lines
• Maintenance shops
• Outdoor activities
• Warehouses
• Tents
Training areas, artillery range and other places where heat may limit usability
Mess halls and outdoor dining areas are more comfortable for personnel
Keep recruitment centers and outdoor booths cool and comfortable

Industry Applications:
Keep employees and cool:
• Workshops
• Warehouses
• Assembly Areas
• Construction sites
Cool equipment for increased lifespan
OSHA studies show that worker productivity improves with cooler working environments.

Home and Patio:
Patios and Decks:
The stifling heat of summer can make outdoor patios and decks off limits, but evaporative coolers can reduce temperature by an average of 15 to 25 degrees F offering cool relief from the heat.

Sports and Outdoor Recreation:
Have fun and keep cool:
• Sidelines
• Locker Rooms
• Athletic Fields
• Health Clubs
• Gymnasiums
• Track & Field

Sports and Sidelines:
Reenergizes players by reducing sideline temperature by an average of 15 to 25 degrees F.
No wet mist, just cool air!
Operates on tap water.

Evaporative cooling vs. Traditional air conditioning:
Evaporative coolers and central air conditioners both serve the same important purpose: keeping us cool. But these two systems operate very differently. Understanding the difference can help get the most out of any system and minimize wasted energy.
Evaporative coolers cool air by filtering it through water, thus lowering the air’s temperature. These systems work best when a small amount of outside air circulates into the space where the evaporative cooler is employed. This also introduces fresh air into the environment and reduces the risk of poor indoor air quality.
Central air conditioners, on the other hand, work by taking humidity out of the air. These systems produce cold, dry air and work best in an airtight space.
The major advantage of an evaporative cooler is that its operating costs are typically one-third those of a central air conditioner. The initial equipment cost is also lower than air conditioners. Along with lower operating costs and simple installation, evaporative cooling can be a perfect, ozone-friendly alternative to traditional air conditioning.
